It's All About Content

Building a killer Website is kind of like building a beautiful new store at the end of a dead-end street. It might be the biggest and the best, it might be the latest and the greatest, but if nobody knows it's there, you ain't gonna' sell jack, Jack!

Too often, business people spend small fortunes building elaborate Websites, only to discover that nobody cares. They build GRAND Websites with flashing lights and music and streaming video—and they don't get any hits! Nobody comes and visits the site. And nobody comes into the store and buys anything.

SO, in the grand tradition of business, they throw more money at the problem. They spend another $400 or $500 for a company to submit their site to all the search engines. Then they have all new business cards, stationery, and invoices printed up with their Website address on them. They start including their URL in all of their traditional newspaper, radio, television, and direct mail advertising. AND GUESS WHAT. It works—for a couple of months. Then everyone stops visiting the site again.

The problem, of course, is that they don't have a Website. They have an advertisement—an expensive advertisement with flashing lights and music and streaming video. And here's the important part...

As hard as it might be to believe, the average person will not visit your site just to admire the clever and beautiful advertisement you have created.
